Making a more liveable Wallan by linking people with nature

Wallan is a fast-growing town approximately 45km north of central Melbourne.

Wallan Environment Group strives to protect and enhance the natural environment through education, action, and community engagement.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung as the traditional owners of this area and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.

Aims

  • preserve, enhance and restore the flora and fauna along Wallan’s waterways
  • improve Wallan’s amenity values by developing a network of linked parks and open spaces
  • encourage active community participation in the group’s activities
  • increase public awareness, participation and ownership of the natural environment
  • serve as an advocate for the natural environment and open space areas of Wallan
